The New Reality of Pay Transparency and the GIGPOSSIBLE Model

The Greek labor market is facing a historic shift. The new EU Pay Transparency Directive introduces rules that directly affect every business and employee. Data shows that the need for change is urgent, as 72% of young workers in Greece see no growth prospects, while 79% of candidates now choose to apply only to job postings that list a specific salary range.
What the new law requires from businesses:
The new legislation mandates transparency from the very first stage of recruitment. Employers must now list salary ranges in job ads and are prohibited from asking candidates about their previous salary history. Furthermore, strict audits are introduced for pay gaps exceeding 5% between employees in the same position, and workers gain the right to access information regarding average pay levels within their company.
Market readiness and key statistics:
Despite these upcoming changes, the market appears unprepared. Only 24% of employers in Europe report being ready, while 76% of companies are currently struggling to restructure their pay systems. However, evidence shows that transparency works: job postings with salary information receive 44% more applications and significantly reduce the time-to-hire.
The GIGPOSSIBLE approach:
At GIGPOSSIBLE, transparency and innovation have been our core principles from day one. We did not wait for the new law to adapt. Our platform was designed from the start as a system where compensation and working terms are clear to everyone.
By doing so, we help businesses connect directly with skilled gig workers, providing an environment of trust. In an era where 7 out of 10 young people are considering moving abroad, our model provides the incentive and autonomy that the country’s workforce needs to remain active in the Greek market.
Gig Possible is the first platform in Greece to implement the principles of this new era in practice, offering companies the tools and data they need to find staff with efficiency and transparency.
